King’s Meditative Arts
Description:
How can we celebrate our innate gift of creativity? How can we use creative expression to cultivate deeper self-awareness, unity, and social change? What tools can we use to help foster our creative gifts intentionally and authentically?
Meditative Arts is a healing practice in which we express ourselves creatively from a meditative flow state. In the act of creating, we intentionally turn our attention inward and bridge the connection between mind, body, and spirit.
We will use our innate desire for creative expression as a spiritual practice, as a means for inner growth and development. In this form of creative expression, we are more focused on the internal journey and the organic flow of the creative process rather than the outcome.
What to expect:
We will open with a brief discussion to welcome us into the space. From there, we will have a short and gentle movement practice to call us into our bodies and prepare for meditation. The movement practice can be performed either seated or standing depending on your preference.

Next, we will dive deeper with a guided meditation to ground us in the present moment, and free us up for creative expression. We will end our session with a closing circle, and an opportunity to share what we created and or what came up for us during our session.
What’s required:
Any type of art supplies and materials can be used for each session. Some suggested materials are colored pencils, markers, watercolor or acrylic paint, modeling clay, or found objects in nature such as flowers or leaves.
